I’m a Soul-Jazz Singer, Songwriter, and
Course Creator for Singers.
I co-front Girl From Greece with my bestie Katerini, where we belt out Hellenic bangers with a non-good girl twist. Together, we proudly coined the term Greco Retro—a genre-blending Greek classics with jazz, blues, funk and soul.
I sing straight-ahead jazz, wail soul and blues classics, write self-love anthems, and craft musical experiences that are equal parts healing, electrifying, and ‘laugh ‘til you snort’ funny.
At 40, I decided my living unapologetically, rock ‘n’ roll era starts now—because self-love is my rebellion.
When I’m not on stage, I’m mentoring the next wave of fearless femme singers inside Fearless Singer—a coaching & community space where we work on voice, mindset, and stepping into our creative power without apology.
I’m obsessed with camp culture, rock’n’roll, ‘70s punk, and bold 1960s colours—which probably explains my flair for theatrics and refusal to blend in.
Also, I found true success at 41 when I ditched the ‘90s soccer mum bob for a shag haircut. Priorities.

Mel Lathouras (she/her) is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and storyteller known for her soulful stylings, sharp wit, and magnetic stage presence.
She cut her teeth in Brisbane and Melbourne’s rock scenes, fronting The Warm Guns alongside Screamfeeder’s Kellie Lloyd and sharing stages with Violent Soho and Urge Overkill. A sought-after backing vocalist, she’s also toured with Tim Steward and collaborated with some of Brisbane’s finest musicians.
Armed with jazz degrees (Bmus & Mmus), 15+ years of live performance, and a gift for storytelling, Mel moves effortlessly across genres—from soul and jazz to Greek music and rock. She has headlined and sold out shows at QPAC and performed at Brisbane Powerhouse, The Tivoli, Brisbane Jazz Club, JMI Live, and beyond.

Beyond the Stage: Mel’s Legacy Work
Mel is the founder of Fearless Singer—a coaching & community platform empowering femme singers to love their voice, take up space, and build careers on their own terms.
Through mentorship, showcases at the hippest Meanjin venues, and jazz jams, she helps artists step into their power.
She is also the creator of Femme Jazz & Femme Music, productions dedicated to elevating female-identifying musicians and reshaping the industry—one bold performance at a time.
